PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
February 13, 2012
During the weeks of January 9 – 27, 2012, Stockdale ISD participated in a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The world’s largest voluntary health organization is dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Every class on all three campuses collected money for the organization. Incentives were offered by holding contests and other fun activities. On each campus, the class that raised the most money will receive a pizza party from LLS.
‘Mr. Legs’ contest was held. The students and faculty voted on the best picture of our male staff members’ lower legs, by putting coins in the box of their choice.
Each week student donations were exchanged for extra privileges such as wearing hats, off-campus lunch, extra recess, and buying strips of tape to ‘tape the Principal’ to the wall. The taping activity will be done at a later date. At the end of the three weeks, our students and staff at Stockdale ISD raised $4033.76!!
This amazing amount was only possible because our teachers and staff put so much effort into this donation project and the students responded by bringing a lot of their change and bills.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
