The Holiday season is approaching which also means the end of the Semester is weeks away. Seniors are filling out their college applications, searching for that perfect fit with the College Choices! We have made two college visits with all the seniors; we toured Texas State University, Texas Lutheran University and we also made a trip to Floresville High School to visit with 42 different colleges. Some seniors have seemed a little overwhelmed on making those final choices on their college education. I have witnessed these students mature so much since August till now. I am so excited to help them with their questions and I love seeing the energy and the excitement in their eyes. Most seniors have taken their college entrance exams, but if your son or daughter has not taken the SAT or ACT please send them by my office so we can get them signed up for the entrance exams.
January is also a very important time for seniors; it’s the time when parents and students may fill out their FAFSA. FAFSA is the way college’s award grant money and financial aid. Each year you and your child will need to complete the FAFSA while that child is attending a college or university. You need to have your income taxes filled out to complete the form. The FAFSA is completed on line; you may complete it in steps. You will sign up for a pin number and a username that you will use every year. You will need a pin for yourself and for your son or daughter. You will fill the form out for each of you each year. I am providing the link for the site.

This link will take you to the FAFSA site and it will walk you through the process. Step One tells you what you need to complete the process; it will also provide the link to make your PIN and answer other important questions about the process. Step two will be the actual process of filling out the FAFSA. Step three is the final review of the results and this is also the step where you may make corrections to your FAFSA. This is a very friendly user site and do not be afraid of this site. If you need help please ask me for help or come by my office so I may assist you.
I also want to remind parents of sophomores that may be interested in the dual credit program to please make arrangement to take the THEA so your scores will be back for the spring semester. The link to sign up for the THEA …
